How do you know what footage and photographs to include?
First of all, we sit down with every client and discuss which parts of their movies and stills are important to them. We ask list of questions at the beginning, so we know you like and want to keep.
Can I have title screens like the Movie DVDs?
Sure, we usually have customised a title screen at the beginning of the DVD so the viewer can see what they are about to watch. We often have a 'choose a chapter' screen for longer movies so you can have the choice to play all the movie or skip to a favourite scene - see opposite.
I would like some kind of title sequence to introduce my movie, can you do this?
Yes, we can produce a title sequence based on footage and photographs supplied. Quite often clients require a simple text based title, sequence and others need something a bit more involved.
What kind of video effects will you use?
This is really down to you, you have a choice of what kinds of blends and wipes to use, but more often than not our clients leave the choice of video effects to us. We chose the type of effect which is complementary to your footage.
I would like some scenes in my DVD to have captions, is this possible?
Of course, many of our clients ask for us to place captions within the movie to highlight a particular scene or event.
Can I have my favourite songs as backing track?
At Picturebox we recommend using music which is complementary to your material as it enhances the viewers experience. Quite often, our clients request using a particular song or piece of music which has a special meaning and emotive to them, and combining this with the moving images makes their viewing experience more special. Picturebox have licensing agreements with MCPS Ireland and Phonographic Performance Ireland ensuring that any music used on our DVD productions is done so in accordance with the law so you can rest assured that there is no copyright infringement.
What kinds of media can you take?
We can take your footage and photographs in may different formats, For moving images we can take Cinefilm, Hi-8 Video, VHS video, Mini DV video and on DVD. Still images an be as print, transparencies (slides), in albums or as individual images and digitally in .tiff, .jpg, .eps, .png, .psd or .gif formats. But more importantly, leave the worry of conversion to us.
What kinds of movie do Picturebox edit?
We have completed many kinds of movies for client's, from 'Family Holidays' to 'Our Wedding', from 'First Day at School' to 'College Graduation', from 'Birthday Party' to 'Retirement Party', Picturebox have been supplied footage from every family occasion.
How many DVD copies do I get?
Our standard package gives you three copies of your DVD, complete with packaging. But, if you require more, that's no problem, just let us know before we undertake the project.
How much does it cost?
As with each of our clients, every project is unique. We assess your content, and give you a quote based on how long it will take us to complete the project and how many copies of the DVD you require. The best thing to do is contact us and we would be glad to discuss your unique requirements.
